Travel day was long and honestly, exhausting. We started with an hour drive to the Atlanta airport, where we waited for seven hours before boarding a 10-hour flight to Türkiye. After a 17-hour layover there, we got on another 10-hour flight and then drove six more hours to finally arrive in Nsoko.

Someone at training camp once said, “You see who people really are on travel days,” and it is so true. Sleep deprivation, overstimulation, and swollen feet do strange things to people. By the time we pulled into the base at around 10 p.m., we were all beat. We dropped our unpacked bags in our rooms and headed straight to the main room for dinner. To be honest, all I wanted to do at that moment was unpack and crash. I was tired, frustrated, and just craving some alone time after three straight days of being with people. But God, as always, had different plans.

Instead of letting me stew in my irritation, He showed me joy. Pure, unexpected joy. Even though it was far too late to be eating pizza, and even though I was mentally checked out, that dinner ended up being one of the sweetest moments. The girls were all together, intentionally sitting down for a meal for the first time, and something about that moment just felt holy. We were emotionally raw, physically drained, and yet so unified. There was a sense of sisterhood already being formed. It was in that late-night, messy, post-travel moment that I saw a glimpse of what God has planned for our time here. That night reminded me that even in exhaustion, He is working. Even in frustration, He is faithful. He is the same God that He was in Illinois, Georgia, here, and everywhere I go.

  1. My favorite line was ” but God as always had different plans ” 🙏 ALWAYS trust him and you truly have a stress free life. Love you pumpkin
